Q & A with Andre DeLisser
We all know that when Sunday hits it’s the pre-Monday blues, but Andre DeLisser manager of RW store 51 in Miami, has managed to turn Sundays around. Some of you may know him from Instagram as @MrSundayFunday sharing his way of turning those pre-Monday blues into a Sunday that consists of sipping on umbrella drinks, laying on sunbeds and enjoying the South Beach ocean breeze. How does Mr. SundayFunday dress the part these sizzling Sundays?
Q: If you could only shop at one clothing store for a year, what store would you choose?
AD: This year I've been on my Ben Sherman tip. They were located next door and I basically paid the light bill there! However, if I could only shop at only one place, it would be Saks Fifth Avenue. You would think my address was off Saks Fifth Avenue. They have such a wide range of brands, styles, shoes, and accessories. As you and your style grows, they have products to grow with it.
Q: Strangest piece in your closet?
AD: At some point in your life everyone looks back at an old photo of themselves and thinks “What the hell was I wearing!?” Back in 2004, Timberland boots were at a high and my store had all kinds of styles, some that I still have till this day like the Rasta Euro hikers with yellow and red on the sole and red stitching. I also still love my strange Evisu Ostrich Sneakers.
Q: Whose closet would you like to raid?
AD: Dwayne Wade's, Miami Heat’s finest, closet would be hit hard! The way he incorporates South Beach influence in his style really makes him stand out. When friends come visit me in Miami they are always so shocked at how dressed up everyone gets. To us it’s the norm and I love that about my city. Every night is a fashion show! Dress to impress.
Q: Favorite decade of fashion and why?
AD: I don’t really have a favorite decade of fashion but I like where things are going now and so happy baggy clothes are not big like it once was. Here in Miami they have no sagging signs.
Q: When you’re bored with your wardrobe how do you reinvent your look?
AD: Wynwood is Miami’s Art District known for it street art work, Art Deco lounges & restaurants. Just as unique as the art is, it attracts trendy people. A trip there will have you change your whole look and it’s where I look for ideas. Or one of Miami’s upscale pool parties in South Beach on a random Sunday Funday.
